Restorations
A very common dental concern amongst children and adults is tooth decay or cavities. These cavities can be easily removed and a filling placed to prevent any further tooth deterioration. If the decay is too great for a filling, in many cases a crown can be placed to save the tooth.
In the event that bacteria or acids begin to destroy tooth enamel, the affected area will be removed and filling material placed. This material restores the tooth to its proper form and function, preventing further loss of tooth structure. If too much of the tooth surface has been affected, a crown, or cap, may be placed to reinforce the tooth. These crowns can be placed over teeth that have had root canals to provide the same reinforcement and prevent fractures.
